Teen stars reveal in the upcoming March issue of  TWIST, ‘How I Got Famous!’

Demi Lovato: “I went on open casting calls. When I was six or seven, my mom and I would check for open casting calls. There’d be hundreds of kids who all wanted the same part. At that point, the odds are against you. But, when I auditioned for Barney, they really liked me!”

Kellan Lutz: “I started as a model.’ When Kellan moved to LA after high school, he knew he wanted to act. But since jobs were scarce, he turned to modeling to make a name for himself: ‘I did a few modeling campaigns, one was for Levi’s, another was for Abercrombie & Fitch.’ He finally was cast in TV roles on shows like Summerland and Heroes, and in 2007, auditioned for Twilight.”

Justin Bieber: “I made YouTube videos. I started singing just for fun. I never did it because I had to. I entered a local singing competition because it was something to do, I never tried to be famous. I put videos on YouTube so my friends and family could see them and see what I was up to. Now I realize this is what I was meant to do, but I just didn’t know it then. It’s sweet!”

Demi Lovato told J-14 Magazine about her double date with her parents.

Demi said: ”I went to the movies with my boyfriend, and my mom and dad came. It was so embarrassing! We just sat there and didn’t even talk the whole time.’ No good night kiss! ‘My boyfriend tried to hold my hand and I got scared!”

Selena Gomez changed who she was for a boy December 5, 2009

Selena Gomez confessed to J-14 that she has only kissed three boys in her life, and she changed who she was for one of them.

Selena Said: ”I changed everything, my clothes, my hair, the way I talked, everything!”

At the time, Selena didn’t even realize it, because she had fallen so deeply in love that it just seemed natural to go along with it. She became a different person: “When I started changing the way I acted with my family and friends, that was the trigger. It’s the worst feeling in the world.”

Then she finally straightened out her priorities and can now quickly spot when her friends do the same thing: “I feel like girls tend to change themselves for people. All the stuff I went through, I’m not apologizing for it. I’m still trying to find myself.”

On fashion line: “We look into fashion designs very much in advance. We started the plaid shirts and the cheetah pants before people started seeing it [on runways]. When you first look at it as a designer, you think Okay, this is going to be a little crazy. But you don’t know what’s going to be in in a year like Max [Azria] does. Max looks at other designers, and you know it’s very advanced. He’s got the inside scoop.”

On her sexy style: “I don’t like dressing up that much, even for dressy kinds of parties and stuff. I like being more casual. I would much rather come underdressed than overdressed.”

On moving: “I think one day I’ll live on Tybee [Island, where The Last Song was filmed]. That’s where I see myself 10 years from now. I could see myself maybe wanting to just chill out and be somewhere like that. And that’s where I feel at home, where I feel like my heart is.”

On Liam: “So I heard a rumor that he didn’t really want the role, and so when he came in to audition for the role, I’m thinking Here’s this guy, he’s amazingly good-looking, super-confident, and he doesn’t realize how blessed he is to be in this room, because I know how blessed I am. This is such a big opportunity for both of us.“

On some of the repercussions of being on TV: “I remember this one girl, who I thought was one of my good friends, was having her bat mitzvah. I was so excited to go. I even had already picked out a dress. And at the last minute, I found out that I wasn’t invited, and I was shocked! That hit me so hard because I’m not a person who needs to get all the attention. That’s just not me at all.”

On her nerdy crushes: “There might be someone special [right now] but I usually go for the nerdier guys, who wear glasses and play video games. All of my friends are always surprised by this. They’re like, ‘You think that guy’s cute?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I do! I think he’s adorable.’ Michael Cera has been one of my biggest crushes for the longest time.”

On doing what she loves: “I’m not here to replace anybody. I’m just doing what I love, and I am just hoping to be half as successful as the other girls out there. I am just doing my thing. I work hard, I put a lot of time and effort into [what I do]. And I think I’ve done pretty well so far.”

On who she looks up to: “I want to be like Beyonce. She is the ultimate woman. You look at her and you don’t think, I wonder what her personal life is like.
